It is important to us that you have the experience that you desire, not one that has been preplanned for you ahead of time—though we can do that, too, if that is what you prefer! At Huerto de Osos Perezosos, you can do as much (or as little) as you want and you get to decide what feels best for you. Below, you will find information about the different packages that we offer. There are a number of optional add ons that we offer for an additional cost (see those below). All stays are for 6 nights (7 days). If you would like to stay longer we can negotiate a package price with you.

SPROUT PACKAGE

Package includes:

  • ADO GL bus ticket from either CDMX or Veracruz to Xalapa

  • 6 nights in the Casa

  • 3 meals at Bundo (one drink + one food item per meal)

  • complimentary Bundo coffee in your kitchen

  • firewood for your fireplace

  • if desired we can help organize readings and/or workshops at Bundo for you

  • your book or work(s) will be placed on Bundo’s bookshelves

HARVEST PACKAGE

Package includes everything in Sprout Package plus:

  • 3 dinners prepared by a renowned local chef delivered to you in your kitchen

  • a guided tour through the famous Xalapa Anthropology museum

  • a 900 oz. bottle of locally produced mezcal

  • laundry service (if desired)

Package includes everything in the previous two packages plus:

  • 6 dinners (one for each night of your stay) prepared by a renowned local chef delivered to you in your kitchen

  • a day trip to El Tajín, the closest prehispanic pyramid to Xalapa (about 3.5 hours each ways by car and includes meals)

    Visit the world-renowned anthropology museum for a guided tour through the rich history of the state of Veracruz.

  • La Ceiba Gráfica Papermaking

    Visit La Ceiba Grafica, an arts center based in the nearby town of Coatapec specializing in papermaking, traditional graphics techniques, and related crafts. Learn how they make their paper from local plants and participate in making your own paper.

  • Zona Arqueológica Quiahuiztlán

    Only about a 1.5-hour drive from Xalapa, this settlement dates back to the Epiclassic period and features temples, ballcourt, plazas and residences. Gorgeous views of the mountains and the nearby ocean. Includes transport, lunch, entrance fees, and a short trip to the nearby beach.

  • River Rafting in Jalcamulco

    About a 40-minute drive from Xalapa is one of the best areas for river rafting in México. You’ll be coasting down the river surrounded by beautiful scenery in Jalcomulco’s amazing climate for about 3 hours (2 hours if the rivers are especially full). Transport, entrance fees, and lunch is included.

  • Barista Training: Learn the Art of Coffee

    Veracruz is known for its amazing variety and quality of coffee. Spend 2 hours with one of Bundo’s baristas getting trained in the art form of making really good coffee. Learn how to calibrate and what to look out for when tasting various coffees. Learn a bit of the history behind this delicious bean.
